I clicked on the obituaries this morning to see that Ms. Clara's daughter had died. Ms. Clara was our faithful sitter when the kids were small. Her daughter was 50 and her death was unexpected. She was at work on Friday. Her husband died years ago, and she leaves behind a son who is in the Navy and a daughter who is still in high school. So sad. At the funeral home, though, it was good to reconnect with people we hadn't seen in a while - parents and kids who were also at Ms. Clara's when we were. Clara said to tell the boys that she is watching them when they altar serve!
Our Boy Scouts - all 11 of them - showed up for a quick service project this morning. We partnered with Catholic Life Insurance (and are shown here providing free advertising for them) to unload some boxes at a center for homeless veterans.
Maybe not much. Crooked Lines simply refers to something I have seen in my own life.... that God can write straight with crooked lines. Even though we make poor choices in our lives sometimes, God manages to take what we do and have good ultimately come from it. I was so excited to come across this sentiment one morning in my prayers...I will lead the blind on their journey; by paths unknown I will guide them. I will turn darkness into light before them, and make crooked ways straight. These things I do for them, and I will not forsake them. ~ Isaiah 42:16
